Shikshak Kalyaan Foundation (शिक्षक कल्याण) is a registered non profit organisation in India that works for the welfare of government and private school teachers. Every member gets a Family Medical Card: the member, their spouse and up to 4 dependents can be treated at CGHS (Central Government Health Scheme) rates at hospitals empanelled with the foundation. Hospitals are being empanelled now. The Family Medical Card is not health insurance. You pay the hospital for your treatment, at CGHS rates. Any teacher, lecturer, professor, principal or staff member working in a government, aided or private institution in India can apply. ### How do I get my membership card? After you register, our team reviews your details. Once approved, you get a member ID and a digital membership card that you can download and print. Anyone can check that your card is real using the verify page. ### Is my helpdesk complaint kept private? Yes. Only our authorised team can see it. We do not share your name or school with your employer without your permission. ### How do I track my helpdesk request? When you submit a request you get a ticket number and a private link. Use them on the "Track a request" page to see replies and the current status. ### Can I nominate myself for the Teachers' Excellence Award? Yes. Self nominations are welcome. You can also nominate a colleague. ### How do I get a receipt for my donation? After you pay, fill the donation form with your payment reference. Once our team confirms the payment, your receipt becomes available to download. ### What is the Family Medical Card? It is a card for members of Shikshak Kalyaan Foundation. It lets the member, their spouse and their dependents get treatment at CGHS rates at hospitals empanelled with the foundation. ### What are CGHS rates? CGHS means Central Government Health Scheme. The central government fixes rates for consultations, tests, procedures and hospital stays under this scheme. These rates are much lower than normal private hospital charges. ### Who is covered by the card? The member, their husband or wife, and up to 4 dependents such as children and parents. All of them are printed on the card. ### Is this health insurance? No. You pay the hospital directly for your treatment, but at CGHS rates. Keep your own health insurance if you have one. ### How do I use the card at a hospital? Show your Family Medical Card and the Aadhaar card of the patient at the hospital help desk before treatment.
